Conditional comments

Experiment Open any MS Word file in Word. Choose Save As and save as an HTML document. Open the saved file in an editor (not Word, but VSCode, Notepad++, etc).

Microsoft is still using this conditional comments. Only now, it has expanded to “mso” (MS Office) so it knows how to read the file if you open it back up in MS Word.
